I got to check out the beautiful Killer Shrimp in Marina Del Ray with my sister for her birthday, and I absolutely loved the restaurant!
The first time I encountered Killer Shrimp was when I was on the way to a food blogging conference. I was driving though Marina Del Ray for the first time, and couldn’t stop gushing over how beautiful it was. When I passed the restaurant I made a mental note to come back and visit, and I’m really glad I did!
Killer Shrimp sits right on the Marina Del Ray Harbor. It’s absolutely beautiful to sit down and dine with such a gorgeous view of the harbor and all the boats. Also reminds you that the seafood you are getting is going to be super fresh!
As for the food, it was right up there with the beautiful scenery! Which in my opinion is really good. Don’t get me wrong… I love a beautiful view, but I love a really tasty menu even better. We ordered a number of things to test the menu, and of course we hard to order the signature dish in which the restaurant is name after… The Killer Shrimp.
Killer Shrimp
The origin of the restaurant was inspired all by this dish, fresh shrimp cooked to order in a secret spicy sauce. While they won’t reveal exactly what’s in the sauce, I’m happy to report that it is a really flavorful broth. Think shrimp broil. It’s served with french bread, and it’s absolutely heaven to get a bite of shrimp and then to dunk the bread in the sauce. Such a hearty dish.
Cauliflower Wings
These were beautiful and delicious! The outside nice and crunchy and the inside was moist. I could really taste the cauliflower. I know they called these wings, but it actually really reminded me of a fritter.
Grilled Caesar Salad
The presentation of this salad was everything! Romaine hearts perfectly grilled with garlic croutons and Parmesan cheese. If I’m going to eat a salad, this is how it needs to be done!
Jumbo Crab Cakes
My sister ordered these for her entree, and she loved them! The crab cakes came served on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes and a caper beurre blanc sauce.
Killer Paella
I ordered this killer seafood paella and it was delicious! Saffron rice, Andouille sausage, chicken, clams, mussels, calamari, and shrimp. There was a lot going on but all the ingredients really blended well together. It reminded me of a jambalaya rather than a paella, but good all the same.
Killer Shrimp is definitely a restaurant that I would recommend visiting if you find yourself in Marina Del Ray. The food is amazing, and the location couldn’t get any better! We went parasailing down at the harbor after the meal, and it was so much fun! I leave you guys with a clip below, and until next time! -xX Evi
