If you’re looking for a fun and spicy twist to liven up meatballs; then look no further. These Jamaican Jerk Beef Meatballs are great for feeding a hungry family for dinner, and have the perfect amount of heat and sweet that will liven up your taste buds for sure!

I love making recipes that are a source of strength to keep me motivated during the day, and beef is a nutrient-rich and high-quality protein. Because of this, I’ve been incorporating beef a lot more into my diet, and one of my favorite ways to do this is with meatballs!

Meatballs are great because they can feed a large crowd and are a great vehicle for loading even more flavor into meat. You can really get creative with the ingredients you put into them, plus if you’re feeding kids and want to sneak veggies into their diets, meatballs are an amazing way to do that. They’ll never know the difference!

In partnering with Beef. It’s What’s for Dinner. I decided to have a little fun with this recipe and incorporate some island flavors with a jerk seasoning. Jerk seasoning is a mixture of spicy and sweet and complements meat really well. Whenever I make Beef Meatballs for my entire family they love it – especially when it’s been a long busy day and we need a boost to get us through the evening. The flavors and spices are even better when paired with beef, a high-quality protein food that contains the essential amino acids the body needs to support physical activity and a strong healthy life. The iron in beef is also more easily absorbed than from plant sources. It’s delicious and tasty and keeps me feeling fuller longer after a meal.

Whether you’re feeding your family or a large crowd, these Jamaican Jerk Beef Meatballs will surely satisfy everyone. I used 1 ½ pounds of lean ground beef (93% or higher) and seasoned it with the jerk seasoning. You can make your own jerk seasoning, or store-bought works just fine. I also added some diced bell peppers and green onions into the beef along with panko breadcrumbs, and an egg. I’ve also made a version of these where instead of using breadcrumbs as my binder I used cooked quinoa, and it was delicious! Because the jerk seasoning has a good amount of heat in it I decided to add some honey to the beef. This is optional, but who can resist that amazing combo of heat and sweet?!
