Them Balls To Debut New Meatballs at the 626 Night Market

For the last 5 years the 626 night market has gathered some of LA’s greatest food vendors under one “roof”, and this year is sure to be no exception. Last week I got a sneak peak of a new vendor that will be at this year’s market, and if you read the title of the post then you know we’re talking meatballs!

Them Balls is a new fusion meatball stand created by J & D catering showcasing some really creative and tasty meatballs. Hanging out in the kitchen with them, and getting to watch how each meatball plate was built was really a treat. At the market, they will be offering four menu items:

1. Fried Chicken N Waffle Balls
2. Asado Balls
3. Tot Thot
4. Banh Mi Ball 

Fried Chicken N Waffle BallsBesides this whole idea being wickedly creative, and a concept that I’ve never seen before; these fried chicken n waffle balls were AMAZING! The chicken meatballs were so moist and not dry at all; which surprised me because chicken can dry out very easily. The waffle was perfectly crispy on the outside and really light and airy on the inside, and the bourbon maple syrup that came along with it was delicious! I couldn’t stop eating these. 

Tot ThotAnother ridiculously yummy dish The Tot Thot are tater tots topped with a cheese sauce, meatballs, Cajun sour cream, bacon, and green onions. I really loved the cajun sour cream. These reminded me of chili cheese fries but better! 

Banh Mi Balls These had SO MUCH FLAVOR! French fries, meatballs, spicy pate mayo, pickled daikon, carrots, and cucumbers and fresh cilantro and jalapeno. The pickling on the vegetables were done really well, and I could taste the Vietnamese flavors.

Asado Balls
Meatballs topped with onions, cilantro, and an avocado cilantro cream.  The meatballs were moist and the flavors on this were really bright. I love everything about these balls!
