Ocho Rios is such a beautiful city that I recommend everyone visit at least once in their life! I first got to travel to Ocho Rios in May of 2018, and immediately I knew I would return. I recently just came back from my second to trip to Jamaica revisiting and visiting some new spots in Ocho, and I thought I’d share with you 2 of my favorite activities to do while Im there.
The Blue Hole
If there is one place to visit in Ocho Rios the Blue Hole is definitely it. It’s such a beautiful place to see with your eyes that pictures and videos don’t do it justice. Hidden up in the mountains are collections of swimming pools and waterfalls that are amazing to swim in. You can book a tour of the Blue Hole as tour guides will take you up to the top. Along the way you stop several times in different caves, swimming holes, and waterfalls for an experience that is a lot of fun.
I’ve visited the Blue Hole twice now and both of my trips there were AMAZING!
Everyone at the Blue Hole is super friendly. Our tour guides took the best care of us and made our experience so much fun. They took amazing photos of us, and also taught us a lot about the blue hole and how they came to work there. A lot of the guides went to primary school on the grounds of the Blue Hole and end up working there. They are AMAZING swimmers and acrobats. Both of our tour guides loved jumping from cliffs doing flips and diving over waterfalls. It was such a cool experience to see. I even got lucky and got to have the same tour guide both times! I recommend David, Ariel, or Timoy! They are my favorite.

One of my favorite parts of the blue hole was rubbing the mud from the caves on our skin and then rinsing it off in the waterfall. Your skin is SO SMOOTH after that!
The Blue Hole is such a special place to me, and I hope it’s something everyone gets to experience in their lifetime!
White River Rafting
On my most recent trip to Ocho Rios, I got to go rafting on the White River in the St. Anne parish. Most commonly you’ll see people rafting at Martha Brae which is about 1 hour outside of Montego Bay, but I decided to try it in Ocho. I absolutely enjoyed it. I went with my best friend Morgan and we had an awesome guide Sebastian!
It was such a beautiful day, and so peaceful floating down the river on the raft. We brought some drinks and our speaker with us so we could play music and just enjoyed the scenery. The white river isn’t typically crowded, but you’ll see a lot of fishermen bank there. The river water is so cool and refreshing and it’s one of my favorite bodies of water to swim in.
Sebastian also took amazing photos of us, and even let us drive the raft a little. It’s a lot harder than it looks! Eventually we made it to the top of the river and got out to jump into the ocean before heading back down the river. Sebastian was a really great tour guide and he also gave us a really good price! Rafting prices can be a little high. I’ll drop his number down below so that you can book with him directly for an awesome price!
