Steak Frites and Michelob Ultra- The Perfect Father’s Day Meal!

One of my favorite ways to celebrate Father’s Day is by cooking my dad his favorite protein; steak, and enjoying a meal with him. This Father’s Day, in honor of him I decided to whip up a delicious steak frites and pair it with Michelob ULTRA.

This is a meal my dad would love as it combines two of his favorite things, steak and beer! The Michelob ULTRA is only 95 calories and 2.6 carbs and is all about living fit, living fun, and living a life without compromise! I love the message behind this because it reminds me of just how my dad is. He’s adventurous, loves to have fun, and is always on the move.

These steak frites go perfectly with the Michelob ULTRA. With a light taste it’s refreshing, crisp and compliments the steak nicely. I think they are the perfect match!

Making these steak frites is super fast and easy! Check out the recipe below:

Ingredients

• 12 ounce Strip Steak

• 8 ounces of softened unsalted butter + 1 ounce for sautéing

• salt

• black pepper

• 1 tablespoon of chimichuri sauce

• 4 finely minced cloves of garlic

• zest of 1 lemon

• juice of 1 lemon

• 1 russet potato cut into thick julienne slices

• Parmesan cheese

• chopped fresh parsley

• 1 tablespoon of garlic

Instructions

1 In a large bowl whisk together the 8 ounces of soft unsalted butter with the chimichuri sauce. lemon zest, lemon juice, salt and pepper until completely combined. Chill in the refrigerator.

2 Season the steak on both sides with salt and pepper. Next, add 1 ounce of butter to a cast iron skillet on high heat and add in the steak to sear. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side or until caramelized and the desired internal temperature is achieved. Rest the steak on a plate for 1 to 2 minutes before serving.

3 Fry the French fries until brown but still soft in the inside. Season with salt and pepper, garlic and garnish with Parmesan cheese and parsley.

4 Serve the steak with a heaping scoop of the lemon herb butter and besides the fries.
