One of my favorite times of the year spring is almost finally here, and fewer things make me happier than those first few springtime meals. With the spring brings lots of festivities like bridal showers, St. Patrick’s Day, and Easter and easy recipes made for entertaining are a must to make out of this season alive. For that, I love to turn to puff pastry recipes.
Working with puff pastry can seem intimidating, but these two recipes are super easy to make and pretty hard to mess up. One of my favorite puff pastry brands to use are the Pepperidge Farm® Puff Pastry sheets. I use them to make my Jamaican Beef Patties, and they cut down on prep time while leaving you with a beautiful outcome.
For the two easy puff pastry recipes, I thought I’d give you an appetizer and dessert, both beautiful and delicious.
Gruyere, Mushroom, Caramelized Tarts
These tarts are elegant and perfect for entertaining! The puff pastry sheets are cut into eighths and topped with crimini mushrooms that have been sauteed in butter, onions that have been caramelized and soaked in balsamic vinegar, and tossed with applewood smoked gruyere cheese. Grab the recipe here.
These strawberry cream cheese tarts are perfect for when you’re craving something sweet and delicious. They are super easy to prepare, and are beautiful to share with your guests. Grab the recipe here.
Both of these recipes are great for spring entertaining, and the use of Pepperidge Farm® Puff Pastry sheets makes it so much easier! I keep my puff pastry sheets cold in the freezer until it’s time to use them which results in a flaky crust! For that golden brown look it’s also important to brush your pastry with an egg wash before putting them in the oven.
